Below are some of the reasons as to why this website exists:

1.     Some of you already know that I am currently working as a CEO (or tour leader) for G Adventures in Central America. Many of you perhaps didn’t. Think of this site as an easy way to be kept up to date with all my latest adventures, from hiking up volcanoes to boarding down them, trying to surf, getting lost in the jungle, wandering through the mystical mists of cloud forests and, most importantly, making sure that my passengers have an incredible, unforgettable experience each and every time I lead a tour.

2.     I want to give people an idea of what this magical part of the world is like, from the people to the cuisine, the culture, landscape, idiosyncracies and much much more. Wherever you’re reading this from, I am going to try my best to leave you with an indelible sense of place.

3.     A big part of my way of approaching life these days, after a hugely important period in Nepal last year, is to try to practice mindfulness and awareness whenever possible. I will therefore from time to time share practices, techniques, thoughts, quotes, pictures and anything else related to living more fully in the moment.

4.     A desire to know the world better, to explore its hidden corners now rather than kicking the can down the road and waiting until retirement comes along, is something that has driven me to spend much of the last ten years living and working abroad and wandering the globe. I’ll be sharing some of the experiences I’ve been privileged enough to have along the way, which include: eating boiled cow’s face in Kyrgyzstan, being shot at in Libya, diving with sharks in South Africa and helping lead the media campaign for the 2013 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
